I  know, that why I also checked with version 4.2.1-6 , which            
is the official debian X.

I'm sorry if I'm cluttering the bug system with a wrong version - I'll be
happy to downgrade to 4.2.1-6 to help resolv this offcourse.

thanks for your help.

Wow - that options makes X really slow, but I still see the snow effect in 
an xterm. (See the screenshot). Pressing control-L clears the screen and
removes the pixels...
