STATUS
------

This is the first official merge with XFS. IT IS NOT READY FOR PRODUCTION!

We are using the IPv6 Patch set provided by Alan Coopersmith <alan.coopersmith@sun.com>
via X.org.

The patch has a few limitations that we are nicely discussing both with Alan and
X.org and we are trying to provide patches as well.

KNOWN LIMITATIONS (by us and by upstream)
-----------------

X will not start if your OS does not have IPv6 up and running.

-nolisten tcp will disable both ipv6 and ipv4. the 2 protocols
              are still considered one.

numeric ipv6 addresses do not follow the standard (or well known)
scheme of [<ipv6address>]:0.0 but simply <ipv6address>:0.0

xauth/xhost do not support -n option at this point in time.
(xauth has been patched upstream already, xhost is more of a political
problem than a technical one but we are working on it)

Other few small cosmetic things here and there that anyway should not create
any usability problem to users.

Unofficial packages will be provided via debian.fabbione.net when the right
time will come.

Regards,
Fabio
