I had the same problem and downgraded to 4.2.1-6 by visiting the
Debian web and manually downloading the following packages into a
separate directory, then doing "dpkg -i * in it. Things work as
before now.
You could frobnicate the following list into a single "apt-get"
command. You might need to set your sources.list to "testing" sources
and do an update first. YMMV if you need a different profile of X
packages.
There may well be easier methods, but I don't know them.
