My computer is a Shuttle XPC SK41G, whose mainboard is the Shuttle
FX41. I am not entirely sure about the canonical name of the graphics
controller: different sources have slightly different names. According
to the manual, the mainboard has a "VIA KM266/VT8375 N.B. and VIA
VT8235 S.B.", and the "VIA KM266/VT8375 integrates a full featured S3
ProSavage8 128-bit 2D/3D AGP controller".

i also have the shuttle with savage graphics. X was locking up when trying to use the 'savage' driver with debian's xfree in unstable. i've had gentoo on the machine before and had no troubles with the graphics, and assumed it was a driver version issue.

i tapped into a xfree4.3 repository for debian and once that was inplace the graphics have been running spectacular!
