Package: xserver-xfree86
Version: 4.1.0-13

I recently installed Libranet 2.0 on a second machine and I think it is
having a fit with the sis driver, but it could be my monitor setup.
These are my system specs.
HP Pavilion 6330
SiS 5597/5598 Video Chipset 2 or 4 MB(Shared Memory Architecture)
64MB of RAM - Video Memory
AMD K6-2 300MHz with 3Dnow
Crystal Audio Sound
USB Logitech MouseMan
Sylvania TF721 17" Flat Screen Monitor

I manually configured my Monitor for the horizontal and vertical sync
per the specs on the Sylvania website.
Attached are both my XF86Config-4 file and my XF96Config.0.log file. I
really love the apt-get capabilities of Debian-based Libranet, but I
need to be able to use X as this will be a little workstation. I
installed RedHat and X ran fine, so I know it can be done, I just don't
know how to do it in Debian. This is where the logfile told me to email
any problems. If there is a known workaround or fix please let me know.

This a pretty old version of the package, older even that the version in
Debian 3.0 ("woody").

I cannot support Libranet packages. My guess is that your SiS chipset
is better supported in Debian unstable, which has XFree86 4.2.1.

Closing this report against a different Linux distribution.
