mga_hal_drv.o *is* a non-free driver, but the one you are using is compiled 
for X4.03. Either remove it or replace it with the version that is compiled 
for X4.2 that's in the matrox tarball. You don't need the matrox drivers to 
do single-head or dual-head with a g450, the only advantage they offer with 
this particular card is improved 3D performance.
