I'm sorry to disappoint you but it's practically certain that I will not
be backporting this code from CVS HEAD.

The changes to the XFree86 DDX layer necessary to support the RandR
extension are too fundamental to fool with in this way.  I'd rather wait
until XFree86 upstream is ready to support this code in a production
release before unleashing it on Debian users.
