Re: XFree86 freeze after switching to console



Yup.

This is a bug in the ATI mobility driver; it hangs the bus.  Sigh.

Seems to be fixed in current XFree86 CVS; I can again switch VT's.

screen is weirdly refreshed, and keyboard is freezed.
with ssh, I can run top:

killing X or gdm, or X and gdm do nothing, when X is restarted,
the same weird screen is displayed. No keyboard input accepted.
