keyboard options and configuration

I wonder where to get information about the keyboard configuration under
xf4.2: reading XF86Config-4 didn't help too much.
I would like to be able to fix my config after the upgrade :
the compose does not work anymore to generate accented letters
For example I have that in my XF86Config-4 to get the same behaviour as XF4.1
Option "XkbOptions" "altwin:meta_win"
