make terminal beep from cron job as normal user
Dear fellas,
echo -e \\a > /dev/console
permission denied
I'm trying to make a beep to accompany xmessage, as a normal user from
a cron job. I could do this on mandrake 7.2. How about woody? Me the
normal user usually has the terminal set to visual bell only.
I want to be reminded it is time for my radio show even if I'm
standing behind the terminal. No I haven't configured my sound card
at this time and just rely on the tiny speaker.
