XDM Refusing Users
When I try to log into my system using XDM 4.0.3-3 on my Woody system, I see the X server restart, and the XDM login screen reappears. My system is mostly Woody, using what appears to be all XFree86 4.0.3-3 packages, with the exception of the DRI-provided XFree86 binary, Matrox-provided mga_drv.o and mga_hal_drv.o (it's a G450). Below is what I believe to be relevant snippage from /var/log/xdm.log:
(**) MGA(0): DPMS enabled
(II) MGA(0): Using overlay video
(II) MGA(0): direct rendering disabled

This all happens when trying to log in as root or a regular user. Where do I go from here?
