X server crash with big endian displays



When I talk to my Xserver from a big endian box (AIX on PPC in this case)
the Xserver crashes.  This is even when just running "xrdb -query $DISPLAY".

In this case, xdm restarted, I retested (since X has been upgraded in the
meantime), then tried again - still crashes.   Now X refuses to load (log
and config attached).  If it is like last time, a reboot will fix the io
resources thing and it'll work.  Yell for more info.

kernel: 2.2.18  with FB_VESA and boot args "vga=795"
