Can you post the exact output you are getting from these commands:

sudo apt-file update
apt-file search bin/ls

They are theoretically subscribed to this list, but I'm not sure if or
when they will read the mail nor have time to fix it. If you submit a
bug report it will be more likely to be noticed eventually as mailing
list posts tend to get lost in people's mailboxes but bugs stick around
