Bug#808984: www.debian.org: Discrepancy between /devel/join/index and /devel/join/newmaint

While discussing with a prospective DM/DD, we discovered a slightly
confusing discrepancy regarding requirements for DD:
As a consequence of the discussion and patch in #700192,
/devel/join/index was changed to say
Before applying as a packaging DD you should have a track record of
maintaining packages for at least six months. For example uploading
packages as a DM, working inside a team or maintaining packages
uploaded by sponsors. Non-packaging DDs have no permissions in the
(from "you should have been a DM for about six months" before).
OTOH, /devel/join/newmaint still says (in the first paragraph) ...
If you want to package software in Debian, it is highly recommended
that you become familiar with the role of Debian Maintainer and
apply for this role before applying to become a Debian Developer.
... without listing the other options mentioned in /index.
Since this tends to confuse maintainers who consider applying for NM,
I suggest to adjust the sentence in /newmaint to the one in /index
(or kill one of them and refer to the other page, if this makes
