I tried also to looking for /usr/bin/mail but I was persuaded that the right pathname it was /bin/mail I apologize for the inconvenient. As answer to your question: yes in my intention there was to find the package that provides the mail command, however searching many times in many way I'm still not able to find mailutils package as answer of web search engine. I tried:
https://packages.debian.org/search?suite=wheezy&arch=any&mode=filename&searchon=contents&keywords=%2Fusr%2Fbin%2Fmail
Best regards.
