The new £5m Porth Eirias watersports
centre sits 500m east of Colwyn Bay's
Victoria pier, opposite the lower entrance
to Eirias Park.
At its highest point, the single storey
building stands at 6m above ground level
and has a rooftop viewing area. The
building has been clad in pre-weathered
zinc, giving it the chameleon-like ability to
change colour with the weather. K2
Architects were appointed by Conway CBC
after winning an invited competition to
develop ideas for a new watersports
facility on the promenade.
K2 also specified cubicles, lockers and
accessories from the leading German
manufacturer Kemmlit.
The Cronus fully framed cubicle and Type
R2 locker systems both feature highly
durable 13mm solid grade laminate
panels and doors, specifically designed to
provide complementing aesthetics.
