Package: wiki.debian.org Severity: normal The account creation page http://wiki.debian.org/FrontPage?action=newaccount requires people to pass a reCaptcha, which is annoying for able-bodied users and downright impossible for some users with disabilities. The login page http://wiki.debian.org/FrontPage?action=login does not allow one to login with OpenID or something else that is more accessible (like something created from our GPG key, maybe).

ACK. The use of recaptcha was an attempted fix to stop spammers creating wiki accounts in an automated fashion, but it didn't work very well in the end. Since I've added email address verification to the new account creation process, recaptcha is no longer necessary and I've just disabled it. In the longer term, we're planning on moving over to a single sign-on for Debian web services. That may take some time... -- Steve McIntyre, Cambridge, UK. steve@einval.com You raise the blade, you make the change... You re-arrange me 'til I'm sane...
