unable to shut off user-digest



I have tried everything else. I hope you can help. My digests have been garbled for several months. No subjects listed and the header and message reversed. I made several inquiries but never got a response. I then tried to cancel using an email with unsubscribe in the subject block. I also tried the unsubscribe web page. In both cases I received the missive shown below:

It has been requested that the following address:

       gary719_list1@verizon.net

should be deleted from the debian-user mailing list.

Sorry, but this address has NOT been found on the list.

Please check carefully the spelling of this address.
You may send an unsubscribe request with another address.
If the address is on the list you will receive a confirmation
message. A reply to this message will remove the address.

Note that the address is the same as I am now using. All those debian digests are ending up in this mail box  some how. It is the only one I use for mailing lists.
