Package: www.debian.org
Severity: wishlist
$ wget http://www.debian.org/logos/openlogo-nd-50.png
$ file openlogo-nd-50.png
openlogo-nd-50.png: PNG image data, 50 x 61, 8-bit colormap, non-interlaced
Perhaps only 1-bit is all that is needed? Well, at least not all 8.
Same for some of the other graphics.
P.S. are .gif's cool these days? I see lots on your site.

Png need 8 bit for proper rendering, it costs only 2KB for the Debian logo.
Png files have been optimized using optipng.
