wiki.d.o: Multimedia Codecs page implies Debian comes without MP3 playback
Hey there :)
The following blurb on the Multimedia Codecs page on the Debian wiki[1]:
How to Install Codecs
Basic multimedia playback is achieved trough common codecs included
in the Debian repositories. To install other codecs not included
with Debian (such as mp3 codecs):
seems to imply that codecs for mp3 playback are not included in Debian,
while in fact they are and have been for quite some time (at least
since Sarge, probably even longer). This causes some confusion.
To avoid this confusion, I would recommend changing the last bit from
"(such as mp3 codecs)" to "(such as mp3 encoders)".
I could not find a talk page for MultimediaCodecs, and the page is
immutable, which is why I chose this list to complain to. If I should
have done something else, please tell me!
Cheers,
