Hello,

when I first subscribed to Debian mailing lists, it took me quite a
while to work out all those Debian-specific acronyms used on the
lists. I think it would be a very good idea if all new subscribers
were sent a list of acronyms in the "You have added to the subscriber
list of" (sp! ;-) message, e.g. a paragraph like this:


On the Debian mailing lists, a number of acronyms specific to Debian
are in common use. Here is a list of the most important ones - more
information on the individual terms is available on
<http://www.debian.org>

AM    (new maintainer) application manager
BTS   bug tracking system
DAM   Developer Accounts Manager
