As has been explained to you on IRC a while back, the multi-arch images 
are NOT the "perfect, to be preferred for everybody" images that you may 
think. I do not think applying the patch as you proposed it is a good 
idea, although I do have another commit prepared that will make them a 
bit more visible by explaining what they are, without promoting them to 
some elevated status.

My patch would add the following text below the overview of images on the 
etch/d-i page:

*Notes*
o The multi-arch CD images support i386/amd64/powerpc and alpha/hppa/ia64
  respectively; the installation is similar to installing from a single
  architecture netinst image. 
o The multi-arch DVD image supports i386/amd64/powerpc; the installation
  is similar to installing from a single architecture full CD image; the
  DVD also includes the source for all included packages. 
o For the netinst and businesscard CD images, MD5SUMS and SHA1SUMS files
  are available from the same directory as the images.
