Hello,
the ports/alpha tree is quite old, with lots of outdated information.
It should be updated. I corrected some problems in the attached diff
files.

Further I noticed that news.wml is not linked from anywhere. I would
suggest removing it, because the latest information in it is not very
peculiar to alpha and the other entries are no longer news. This would
also remove "postgresql-noopt.diff.gz" which is quite outdated,
especially considering that even when potato was released the
README.Debian suggested *not* to use this postgres but rather to
upgrade to a 7.x version (The reason I started testing back then).

Also a recent discussion[1] centered around the SRM-HOWTO, MILO-HOWTO and=
=20
FAQ-HOWTO, which are not linked, and should be removed. I am currently
updating them, but now I even see bugfixes on them instead of their
removal and/or correspondence to me; especially since the SRM-HOWTO will
soon be uploaded as part of the aboot-package.

My diff contains several notes starting with "#HK" which are comments
and/or suggestions.

I contacted the orignal site author (Chris Chimelis) a month ago but
he has not even confirmed the arrival of my mail, therefor I post this
as a bug now.

If you need further information, please contact me; but I am mostly
offline during March 8-28 (but your mail won't be forgotten).

Hi Helge.

I applied all your changes with some little corrections (I can send you
a diff if you want). If you want to edit the alpha pages
in the future you should perhaps mail to webmaster@debian.org and
ask, if and how you can get a pserver account for the CVS. I would
be willing to review and apply changes of you until then.
