The information you need is in the initial report! Stick a dollar in the
local part, it doesn't work. Neither do braces, and probaby some other
valid characters too. True for any list, I'd imagine. It certainly doesn't
work for debian-announce.

While we're on the subject, the error message itself is broken -- at the
very least, the HTML needs some end tags. Personally I'd either use a HTML
module to generate decent markup or stick to plain text.

I'd give you a patch to fix both if subscribe.pl were publicly available,
but AFAICS it's not.
