It is others that have sent this to our forum, not us. We merely acted in
good faith, maintaining the technical utility of the system: it's called
a "mailing list", and it works by propagating a single email message to
multiple subscribers and archives that may be available via the web pages
(protocol called HTTP), news groups (protocol called NNTP) and others.

We do not monitor all the mails sent to the Debian mailing lists, as that is
technically impossible due to the sheer volume.

Given that you were misrepresented in another person's mail, and that
the said mail otherwise conflicts with our mailing list code of conduct,
I'll remove the mail from the archive.

I must, however, warn you that the Debian's mailing list archive is just a
drop in the sea: there are several other mailing list archives available and
several other places on the web where this false petition may have appeared.

I'm sorry if some of our members confused you by sending you contradicting
information on the issue -- we do not usually like to be threatened by
lawyers, a position I'm sure you will understand.

Note also that these mails will be archived at a similar web page.
