Last Modified: times out of sync?

Anal Reader notices that some of the pages have "Last Modified:" 
dates/times that do not follow from content, i.e., /index.html 
has news stories from 13 July but the last modified timestamp is 
5 July.  Similarly, /releases/stable/index.html has news about 
the very exciting 13 July release, but its timestamp 9 July. 

Just thought I'd bring it to your attention.
