One of the most useful features of the pages for individual packages is
the link to the changelog, for a quick look at what has changed before
deciding whether to download a package version or not.

However, the changelog returned from the

  http://cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/get-changelog?package=XXX

link is often out of synch with the latest version. Current examples:

On
   Linkname: Debian GNU/Linux -- gdb
        URL: http://www.debian.org/Packages/unstable/devel/gdb.html

with contents about Package: gdb
4.17.19981224-3.m68k.objc.threads.hwwp.fpu.gnat,

Link that you currently have selected

   Linkname: changelog.Debian
        URL: http://cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/get-changelog?package=gdb

returns changelog with latest entry for gdb
(4.17-4.m68k.objc.threads.hwwp.fpu.gnat.3).

On
   Linkname: Debian GNU/Linux -- netbase
        URL: http://www.debian.org/Packages/unstable/base/netbase.html

with contents about Package: netbase 3.11-3,

Link that you currently have selected

   Linkname: changelog.Debian
        URL: http://cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/get-changelog?package=netbase

returns changelog with latest entry for netbase (3.11-1.2).

On
   Linkname: Debian GNU/Linux -- mount
        URL: http://www.debian.org/Packages/unstable/base/mount.html

with contents about Package: mount 2.9g-3,

Link that you currently have selected

   Linkname: changelog.Debian
        URL: http://cgi.debian.org/cgi-bin/get-changelog?package=mount

returns changelog with latest entry for mount (2.8a-1.2).

I have checked that this is not a caching problem on my end.

   Klaus

Hi,

The CGI script that had pulled the copyright and changelog files, along with
file lists of all packages from the Lintian laboratory has stopped
functioning because the laboratory has been removed.

The links to those scripts have been removed and I am closing the bug
reports related to these scripts. We will implement something of the sort
again, eventually. If anyone wants to submit a wishlist bug to get this
functionality back, you can, but we're already well aware of the issue so
I wouldn't bother. :|

Sorry. :/
