Bug#87725: suggesting new links to access package web pages.

Package: www.debian.org
Version: 2001-02-26
Severity: wishlist

In recent times, we've seen BTS enhancements such as:

 - BTS access: http://bugs.debian.org/PKGNAME
 - Package search list: http://packages.debian.org/PKGNAME

In a similar fashion, might I suggest a direct route to package
web pages:

Instead of (or in addition to):

  http://packages.debian.org/stable/SECTION/PKGNAME.html
  http://packages.debian.org/testing/SECTION/PKGNAME.html
  http://packages.debian.org/unstable/SECTION/PKGNAME.html

Have:

  http://packages.debian.org/stable/PKGNAME.html
  http://packages.debian.org/testing/PKGNAME.html
  http://packages.debian.org/unstable/PKGNAME.html

This way, one doesn't need to know the section of a packge to
look it up.

These pages should still function, showing the list of packages
in a section:

  http://packages.debian.org/stable/SECTION/
  http://packages.debian.org/testing/SECTION/
  http://packages.debian.org/unstable/SECTION/

Thanks,
