The text under the search already has the sentence:
An asterisk, '*', can be used as a wildcard at the end of words.
Isn't this exactly what you want? It is important to keep any
text short or people simply don't read it. :)
I am hoping more general regex will be added to swish++.

Since this is rather easy to implement with swish++ it should be
