I like white. Most people have a decent monitor, and the white background looks very nice. Leaving the background to be whatever default is left in Netscape leaves it looking ... this is my impression ... rather utilitarian and drab. The www.fsf.org site used to be like this, but even they changed it to white. If your monitor is really, really bad, you might consider telling your Netscape to override the color choice in the preferences dialog. Cheers, - Jim
