Bug#1115856: RFA: sympathy -- serial port concentrator system - server/client program

Package: wnpp
Severity: normal
X-Debbugs-Cc: sympathy@packages.debian.org
Control: affects -1 + src:sympathy

I request an adopter for the sympathy package. I would be happy to
sponsor uploads, so the new maintainer does not need to be a "Debian
Developer" or "Debian Maintainer".

The package description is:

sympathy is a system for logging and providing access to serial
(RS232) ports; typically, multiple serial ports on a single server
  (aka, a serial concentrator).

sympathy can function as a replacement for screen(1), minicom(1) and
  consolidate(1).

I packaged sympathy for Debian as part of my work for the Xen Project
test facility, which is sadly now decommissioned. I no longer use the
program myself.

The upstream is Mythic Beasts. Coincidentally, I am a customer of
theirs. I will contact them through other channels to see if they're
still using this program themselves and if they like it being in
Debian.

Currently sympathy is about to be evicted from Debian testing (forky)
because it FTBFS with GCC-15 - see #1097960. If nothing else is done,
it will not form part of the next Debian release. If there is no
change in the situation by then I will request for it to be RM'd from
Debian.
