This library was initially designed as "rework" of jabberpy library but lately become a separate product. Unlike jabberpy it is distributed under the terms of GPL. This was previously removed from Debian (formerly python-xmpp) because it was no longer updated by upstream. Yet Alexey has continued maintaining it on GitHub, and has added Python3 support.
