Not necessarily but you will have a better chance to find a sponsor if you do so.
Also, you should ask for sponsorship at the Fonts Team or at the pseudo package "sponsorship-requests".

The package is not accessible anymore.
I asked the upstream font holder at GitHub to remove the pre-made fonts,
but he said he had put them in the repository at the request of users
and was currently using several npm packages.
Then please repack as suggested.
