Hi Bastian, yes, there's no "release" that currently uses libspng, but mainly because Dolphin stopped making releases ages ago, recommending users to use the beta versions instead ("The stable versions below are years out of date and missing countless features and bug fixes. Beta or development versions are a better choice for almost all users"). I recall some discussions in the debian-games IRC about the intention to start packaging newer commits, but I guess that never materialized.

Anyway, the Dophin thing was just a plus. I'd like to have spng in Debian to make C development on the distro easier; I see great value in having a large number of -dev packages, even if they are leaf packages.
