I was going to ask whether you are aware of Perl's "prename" command-line utility, but it seems that it has been broken out some time ago... just goes to show my age, I guess :) Also, there are several packages (e.g. krename, gprename, mrename) that have a slightly different focus: rename a lot of files, usually as a one-time thing, with a graphical interface, but yeah, that's not exactly what your tool does. > - How do you plan to maintain it?
