 Originally part of ReadStat, librdata is a small C library
 for reading and writing R data frames.

  - Read compressed files (requires bzip2, zlib, and lzma)
  - Write factors, timestamps, logical vectors, and more

This library has become a dependency for the package xtpcpp that I maintain in
my laboratory. Although the version number seems very low, the library actually
performs well and satisfactorily for our use.
