Bug#969572: ITP: python-duniterpy - Duniter Python API

What I can easily do is generate a setup.py from the pyproject.toml.
There is dephell which does that:

Ok, then most likely Poetry needs to be integrated into this Python build system.
If by "this Python build system" you mean Pybuild, then it does not really change the concrete issue that Poetry is not yet in Debian. For the initial release to Debian of package python-duniterpy, I see two options: a) wait for Poetry to get packaged _and_ usable in Debian, or b) patch duniterpy to not use Poetry. It seems (if you are talking about Pybuild gaining support for Poetry) that you are talking about a variant of a) which involves not only packaging Poetry but then also developing Pybuild further to cover it. I am not familiar with Poetry, but I suspect that Pybuild is flexible enough that we need not wait for such integration to happen, but can (for now) pass explicit commands for how to Poetry should be executed. To get python-duniterpy accepted into Debian fastest possible, I recommend to _not_ wait for Poetry, but explore b) instead. Either have upstream project duniterpy re-add support for "archaic" build frameworks, or help provide a patch to apply specifically for the Debian package. - Jonas
