Bug#959834: RFP: diffutils-java -- Implementation of general operations with diff files

Hi Sudip,

Yes, the link is correct.
And we can find the same source link at https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.googlecode.java-diff-utils/diffutils/1.3.0, where jar files and source jar files are also available.
It would be really great if we can get this packaged into Debian.

Cheers,
Yun

Hi Andrej,

The current libdiffutils-java package in Debian is not the one Olek proposed to add.

There are two "Java Diff Utilities" packages on maven central, so it's indeed very easy to get confused.
https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/com.googlecode.java-diff-utils/diffutils
https://mvnrepository.com/artifact/io.github.java-diff-utils/java-diff-utils

The first one is a line based diff implementation while the second one is a character based implementation.
Bazel depends on the first one for a native patch implementation. We should really like it to be packaged in Debian as well.

Thanks in advance!

Cheers,
Yun
