I have added a small patch to flashrom upstream and added the patched
source code for flashrom v1.0.x to salsa:

The patch (available as a Pull Request in GitHub to upstream;
https://github.com/flashrom/flashrom/pull/71) allowed me to build
flashrom for Debian. Patch diff:

I intend to package this for PureOS and am happy to share results and
have my work reviewed by flashrom maintainer for submission to Debian,
likewise happy to reuse any packaging work already done for Debian.
