The response I got made it _very_ plain they (or at least the one responder, who seemed to be the only active member of the team at the end) was not interested in packaging nagios4 for debian. If the response had been "it's great to see someone else stepping up to do the work, please join us", then despite my preference for working alone, that is what I would have done. But that isn't the response I got.
