Bug#892752: RFP: ipcalc-nmav -- parameter calculator for IPv4 and IPv6 addresses

Package: wnpp
Severity: wishlist

* Package name    : ipcalc-nmav
  Version         : 0.2.2
  Upstream Author : Nikos Mavrogiannopoulos <nmav@gnutls.org>
* URL             : https://github.com/nmav/ipcalc
* License         : GPL-2
  Programming Lang: C
  Description : parameter calculator for IPv4 and IPv6 addresses

>From the From the Github page:

    This is a modern tool to assist in network address calculations
    for IPv4 and IPv6. It acts both as a tool to output human
    readable information about a network or address as well as a
    tool suitable to be used by scripts or other programs.

    It supports printing a summary about the provided network
    address, multiple command line options per information to be
    printed, transparent IPv6 support, and in addition it will use
    libGeoIP if available to provide geographic information.

This package provides a strict superset of the functionality in Debian's
current ipcalc package. Notably, it provides IPv6 support (see
https://bugs.debian.org/809847), which is now becoming more important
for my day-to-day activities.

Eventually, we probably should deprecate the current ipcalc package in
favor of this one. (Fedora has already made this switch.) This ipcalc is
not a direct descendant of the current ipcalc, though, so this ipcalc
should enter the archive via NEW.
