I second Holger's proposal; "Regnal" is really quite an esoteric English
word these days.  :)

Feel free to use it in the long description though, for example:

  Displays the Debian Release (or "Regnal") date of a given date,
  where the years are named after the current stable release.

That way it could still be found in searches.
