Description : Logitech Gaming keyboard per-key lighting support
This is a set of user-space tools to communicate with Logitech gaming
keyboards through hiddev, in order to:
- Query extended information (firmware version, layout, supported
report rates and lighting features).
- Manipulate per-key lighting feature. Read/write key colors.
- Manipulate game-mode-inhibited keys.
- Change keyboard reporting rate.
Tools include:
- a library implementing Logitech's protocol.
- a command-line tool.
- a session service to set and animate lights depending on X events,
such as changing active window.
- experimental python bindings for the library (I may skip those though).
No other similar package exists AFAIK.
I am the program's only author for now. In case it matters, I used USB
sniffing of the traffic generated by the software provided by Logitech
for Windows to understand the protocol, and had no access to any
documentation. As a user of both Debian and Ubuntu, I figured it would
be great to package it for Debian. I am novice as .deb packaging
though so the package will need thorough checking from an experienced
maintainer.
Package name is tentative, I feel it should be more specific though.
Suggestions welcome. Perhaps logitech-keyleds?
