Bug#754785: ITP: fonts-open-sans -- sans serif typeface

Hello, I'd like to help bringing Open Sans into Debian.

I'm working on packages for Cura (the 3D slicer) at the moment, and the
upstream sources includes Open Sans as part of its GUI package.
It would make a lot of sense to provide Open Sans in a separate fonts-
package, instead of purely including it with Cura.

If nobody objects, I'd like to take over this RFP.

I'm struggling a bit on preparation of the tarball, however.
Upstream only provides a single zip file without any version on
http://www.opensans.com .

What's the best way to autogenerate the orig.tar.gz?
Or should I just build it manually and write the debian/ around it?
