Jappix is no longer maintained, according to upstream github: https://github.com/jappix/jappix "Notice: the Jappix project is no longer maintained. We still accept PR (Pull Requests) though." I'm closing the RFP therefore. One can still reopen, if the project gets active again. There are two interesting alternatives: - movim, written in PHP, like Jappix, uses ejabberd for XMPP. Upstream provides Debian packages. RFP: #858367. - salutatoi, written in Python, uses prosody(?) for XMPP. Some UIs (command line, console, graphical) are already in Debian, see sat-xmpp-{jp,primitivus,wix}. The web frontend is not yet packaged, see RFP #725761. Both projects are alive and release regularly.
