Bug#852794: ITP: python-testfixtures -- Collection of helpers and mock objects

Hi,

just FYI there's a lot of overlap with:

https://packages.debian.org/source/sid/python-testtools
https://packages.debian.org/source/sid/systemfixtures

and:

https://pypi.python.org/pypi/zope_fixtures/0.0.1

(not in Debian).

The philosophy of all the above packages is to be fully interoperable
with Python's stdlib unittest module APIs and interfaces, rather than
introducing non-standard mechanisms.

For example they leverage TestCase.addCleanup instead of using
contextmanager-based APIs, that force you to indent your test code
(possibly multiple times).

I understand that testfixtures is more oriented to non-standard test
frameworks like pytest, but just wanted to mention alternatives :)

Links to docs/upstream:

http://testtools.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
http://systemfixtures.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
https://pypi.python.org/pypi/zope_fixtures/0.0.1

Cheers,

Free
