We had a discussion a while back on the DPMT mailing-list [1].
Basically, pydap 3.x is a non-backward compatible rewrite of pydap 2.x.
Both can be installed side by side since they use different namespaces
(dap for pydap 2.x, pydap for pydap 3.x). Hence the introduction of a
new source package to avoid difficult upgrades for pydap 2.x rdepends.
