Unfortunately, I haven't been able to work on ISSE since January 2014 and was the only coder/developer. I don't foresee my circumstances changing anytime soon and, as such, would consider the project dead upstream.
That being said, if there's a serious developer out there that has an interest in keeping the project going, I would be more than happy to discuss further.
In addition to bug fixes, there are a few obvious improvements that would make a significant difference and justify inclusion in a larger package distribution. Improvements include better handling of large files and a basic plugin architecture (somewhat started).
