The Uscan behaviour in the presence of “Files-Excluded” requires a
bunch of fiddling with the upstream-versus-Debian version string for
the resulting tarball. With a repack program, the version handling
just works properly.

Not that I recall.

Thank you, I will change the version (which is another reason I'm glad
the version handling just works correctly :-)
