Above is a nice introduction to "Notebooks" in general. I suggest to (perhaps shorten, and) add a section on what makes Beaker special among Notbooks - i.e. how it differs from ipython-notebook (already in Debian) and Jupyter and iJulia (not in Debian currently). From my understanding Beaker is a "wrapper" for ipython, julia, R, Scala, Nodejs and more (introducing a notebook equivalent of Un*x "pipes"), and is a competitor to (or argubly successor of) ipython-notebook, Jupyter and iJulia. > Beaker has been successfully deployed in several community settings, > and as such fits well within Debian as a useful service to our users. ...and will hopefully - if succesfully packaged fast enough - be part of a project targeted next DebConf: https://wiki.debian.org/ShowMeBox :-D - Jonas -- * Jonas Smedegaard - idealist & Internet-arkitekt * Tlf.: +45 40843136 Website: http://dr.jones.dk/ [x] quote me freely [ ] ask before reusing [ ] keep private
